Chain Link Fence Contractors Illinois
For business owners looking to define the boundary of their business or commercial property without impeding their view, steel chain link fencing is a reliable, eye-catching choice. Chain link fence is a popular choice due to its reliability and overall lifespan of 50+ years without any maintenance. It does also come in black vinyl coated and various sizes. The most common chain link height is 6' for commercial applications, while 8' and 10' are also available. When going taller than 6' tall, additional bracing and thicker posts are required. Without it, the fence could be susceptible to wind and storm damage.
One upon a time wrought iron was the commercial fence of choice. The previous fencing material, wrought iron, has been replaced with steel. The usage of iron for fence construction is no longer practical due to its propensity to rust, weight, and usefulness. Although powder-coated and resistant to rust, steel fencing has one drawback: it isn't as robust as wrought iron fencing. We advise wrought iron fencing since it is more durable and needs welding, which drives up labor costs overall. Galvanized chain link is a better choice for businesses over wrought iron as its much more economical in price and does not require expensive fabrication.

There are a variety of chain link types. First is color or coating. Galvanized chain link is the raw form of chain link fence. Then there are:
Brown vinyl chain link fence is hard to come by, and is not a common request. However, we can order it for you. Turnaround times may be 2+ months depending on the time of the year it's ordered.
Black vinyl chain link fence is much easier to get and is readily available. This is a common request among our customer due to its durability and muted appearance. It blends much better with the outdoors than a silver galvanized chain link fence.
Underneath the vinyl coating is still the galvanized fence, you will just see much longer longevity out of a wrapped fence versus a raw galvanized fence. People seem to prefer the higher-end design appearance of the black vinyl fence over the traditional chain link.
Costs for the vinyl coated fence are slightly higher than the raw galvanized, but not by much.
The most common height for a backyard residential property is 3 1/2' or 4'. 4 feet high is the more common in today's market. 3 1/2 feet tall was an older height of the chain link fence which is less common today. The current fence in your backyard may seem shorter or higher than these heights due to the posts being lifted out of the ground or the fence being sunk into the ground.
In residential, you usually don't go over 5' tall as higher than that appears more "industrial" in appearance and is less attractive. Many villages do not allow taller than that for this very reason. Commercial properties require higher fences for security reasons so we typically install 6' and 8' tall chain link fences.
While there are many heights of chain link fences, the height that you choose must fit the need or utility of the application. If you need it just to keep kids and small dogs in, a 4' high fence is sufficient. If you have a larger dog or are afraid of coyotes or large animals getting into your yard, a 5' or 6' fence will work well. Fences that are beyond 6' are usually reserved for security applications or athletic fields or tennis courts.
